President says progress on economy talks
By Stefanos Evripidou
THE TWO leaders made some headway on the economy in their efforts to reach a solution to the Cyprus problem, said President Demetris Christofias yesterday.
Speaking after the 31st meeting between the two community leaders since direct talks began last September, Christofias said that some convergence has been achieved in some aspects of the economy chapter.
Christofias and Turkish Cypriot leader Mehmet Ali Talat discussed the economy and the controversial Limnitis crossing during yesterday’s talks, after which, the president said on the economy: “I must admit we have achieved something”.
